When to go

Unlike its American neighbour, Toronto only gets lively during peak seasons. Expect heavy crowds from June to August, where the temperature and accommodation costs are high. There are a number of events and festivals during this time, such as Toronto Pride and Caribana.

If you are looking to beat the crowds but want to avoid freezing weather, visit during spring (April to May) or autumn (September to October). The weather is pleasant enough to walk about and see the sights.

November to March welcomes bitterly cold, but these months see a reduction in accommodation prices. The city can get pretty quiet, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing to do. Seasonal events will pop up so make sure to be on the lookout.

Make sure to research the weather before you travel so you can dress accordingly
