Transport

Travelling around the Philippines is easy. To save money, it is highly advisable to use public transportation. Jeepneys, sikads, tuk-tuks, tricycles, and public buses are among these services.

The cost of transportation varies, depending on the length of the distance but, in general, less than 10 kilometers costs less than 1 USD. To cross the islands, a flight can be taken or one can opt for local shipping lines. A piece of advice: the latter is cheaper.

To get around the cities, Grab and Uber are both available in the Philippines. The metro and light rail are a better option though as they are so much quicker. Fares range from 12 to 24 pesos. Make sure to avoid rush hour though! This is from 6 to 8 in the morning and 5 to 7 in the evening.

Outside the city, roads are generally good but there are going to be places where journeys take longer than usual as the roads are more challenging.
