Culture & Religion

The Philippines possesses a wonderfully diverse culture and religion truly thrives here. Across the country, Roman Catholic is the dominant religion. About 90% of the population in the Philippines is Roman Catholic. Despite this number, indigenous practices and culture still survive in this oriental land. The marriage rituals of the northern folks in the Highlands of Ifugao and the southern Lumads in Mindanao are particularly interesting. If the opportunity arises to attend, make sure to go!

Family is incredibly important to the Filipinos. Therefore, they are so welcoming to foreigners and try their best to make everyone feel welcome in their country.
