      The world's best street food!
      Street food

As one of the top spots across the globe for street food, Georgetown is a fabulous place for foodies! Street food stalls are spread around the city. Chinatown and Gurney Drive have particularly high numbers of vendors.
For varied options all gathered in one place, and plenty of seating so diners can enjoy a meal immediately, hawker centres are a good choice. Some of the top Georgetown hawker centres include Red Garden, New World Park, Cebil Market Food Court, Presgrave Street Haker Centre, and Sri Weld Food Court.
You’ll find many Indian, Chinese, and Malay restaurants and food stalls around the city, the mixed ethnic makeup of the city reflected in the cuisine.
Char koay teow, a stir-fried noodle dish with prawns, egg, sausage, cockles, and chili and soy sauce for seasoning is one of the most famous street eats in Georgetown. Oyster omelettes are also omnipresent. Other common things to try are crispy duck with rice, curry mee, laksa, popiah, lok, murtabak, roti, curries with naan or chapatti, fried chicken, Penang rojak, and chili or pepper crab.
