Travelling Alone

Generally a very safe place to travel, and with a lot of the French speaking at least some English, it makes communication very easy for most people. The French are normally very warm and welcoming and happy to talk to people from all over the World.
As anywhere, vigilance is also a good attitude. It is always good to asks advice to the locals. Certain parts of North Marseille should be avoided for example, unless clearly invited and aware of what is going on.
