Hostels

You can find backpacker hostels everywhere. You will be able to meet people from all over the world there. There are even some that live in hostels on a long-term basis, therefore hostels sometimes feel like house shares than hostels. Dorm beds usually costs around $25 per night.
In most of the hostels you will have the choice between dorm beds or private rooms. Hostels usually have a kitchen and lounge.
Similarly to all other countries, the more you pay the nicer/cleaner the hostel will be.

Some will help with finding a job on a farm.
