El Nido

Currently ranked #4 in Conde Nast Traveler’s list of the ’20 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World’, El Nido is rising rapidly in popularity. It’s no surprise. El Nido possesses some of the most pristine white-sand beaches in the world, along with stark limestone cliffs, mesmerizing coral reefs and unforgettable sunsets. In an effort to keep it this way, it is a resource protected area on the island of Palawan.

Nestled in the north of Palawan island, it’s 238 kilometres from the main hub of Palawan island; Puerto Princesa City. It is also just under the island of Coron too, which has some of the best shipwreck diving in the world. Make sure to head here from El Nido if you have the time!

For travellers, it is the perfect place to relax on the beach, catch some sun and have a romantic break for yourself or with a loved one. For many adventurers, this is the perfect place to go island hopping. Explorers are spoilt for choice on what to visit from here but it’s a good guarantee that whatever you do visit, will be very much worthwhile.

There are plenty of adventure activities here too, including hiking and kayaking. For all the foodies, there is an excellent variety of cuisines to keep you happy and satisfied.

Generally, though, this is the place to soak up paradise, slow down your day and relax into an island pace of life to recharge your batteries.

Good to know

Note: make sureto have enoughcash with you as there are only two cash points in El Nido which are often not availablein the evenings due to the nightly blackouts!
